Fees & Charges

At Southern Sydney Private Hospital, hospital fees encompass theatre time, recovery care and any prosthetic items such as intraocular lenses or viscoelastic fluids, all of which are fully covered by your health fund provided you meet waiting‑period requirements.
Prior to admission we conduct an eligibility check with your insurer to confirm your level of cover and any payable excess, and our admission staff will advise you of any estimated costs to be settled on the day of admission under our informed financial consent process, noting that final invoices may vary if treatment or insurance cover changes.
Payment Methods
We accept cash, bank cheques (excluding personal cheques), EFTPOS and most credit cards, excluding American Express, and where pathology is performed during your stay separate accounts will be issued by the pathology provider .
Practitioner Fees
Fees for your surgeon and anaesthetist are billed separately by each treating specialist and are not payable through the hospital. These accounts may not be fully covered by your health fund or Medicare, so we recommend confirming likely out‑of‑pocket costs directly with your practitioners before admission .
