What To Expect During Your Stay

On Arrival

  • On arrival, you will be greeted by the reception staff and have your paperwork completed, including informed financial consent.

  • A nurse will then admit you, checking your medical history and consent, observations and health status.

  • Your anaesthetist will assess your prior to the procedure including any questions you may have about the anaesthetic process.

Following your procedure
Following your procedure, you will spend a short time in the recovery area and offered light refreshments.

Once your recovery is complete, you will be discharged into the care of the responsible adult taking you home. The nursing staff will call your carer by phone and let them know when you are ready to be picked up.

You will be provided written instructions by the nursing staff and both you and the carer will be able to discuss any questions you may have directly with the nursing staff before going home.
